Week 6
24 Nov 2014
Good Morning everyone, the whole crew was given time off today after a hectic week. We were allowed to sleep in. The whole crew met up to celebrate Kent's birthday. After lunch, I went up to tidy up the studio floor.
I unpack everything and place equipment back into their various compartments and shelves. After tidying up the whole studio, we call it a day. Harry wanted us to rest more.

Good Morning everyone, here is the link for the short film that I edited for thanksgiving 2014 . Hope you guys enjoy it.
We started out in the morning with a to do list . 27 Items in total. I spent my whole morning testing fiber optic cables with Harry and troubleshooting why the 2 cameras doesn't get live feed in the camera. Was it a cables problems ? Camera problems ? Camera Setting problems ? We did alot of trouble shooting and we were still aren't able to get it solve.
Nicholas was busy with his coaxial cable, we have to make 6 100 feets coaxial cables.
After lunch, we manage to solve the issues like finally after a week. We realize 3 things. 1st some of the cables are flip flop the blue & orange is plug in the wrong slot. 2nd camera settings are HD / HDV not SD / HDV. 3rd thing is one of the optic fiber is dirty that why it generates a note OPEN CABLE, but thankfully after troubleshooting we manage to get all 3 cameras running.
We also plug in another remote control for the remote cameras, which means we have 2 set of controls control the same 3 cameras.
After managing to get the camera feed, I then set up the scaffold with Alex and Kent to fish out 6 audio cables and 6 coaxial cables. This cables will be for the other cameras,
Here is how you chill out on a scaldfolding, after laying out the cables we called it a day.

Good morning everyone. I started out the day by detaching the studio speakers and bring it down to the trailer. After that I was tasked to relay the cables under the audio console in the trailer. It was really tough doing it alone at first but with the help of Harry we manage to relay everything into a neat pile of cable, compare to at first which was entangled .
The entangle pile look alot neater now.
We have to unplug everything from the back of the mixer and plug it back in.
After sorting out the entangled pile I then fixed some audio cables onto the switches .
After lunch, I work together with victor and alex to pull 12 100 feets cables across the ceiling and feed it up to the control room. It was pretty tough but we did it quite smoothly considering there is only 3 of us.
After that I then went to help Harry with the fiber connection and we tested all the cameras, after placing the panels back in. Everything works well. We have a slight hiccup with one of the remote cam but it was fine after we cut the power supply and and on it back .
After making sure everything was working we then power down everything. Harry then show me what did he did with a man made controls that make all the telly look working on the camera.
We called it a day after that. Happy Thanksgiving to all . Will be back on sunday as we have two public holidays this week.

I fell sick, I think I caught the virus from Ed . Basically, we decided to work today . As the past 2 days were public holidays and we are not working on the following monday. We were working on the cameras and the system making sure that everything was alright for the feed tomorrow sunday worship service.
I tidy up the trailer. After that I was tasked to solder RCA audio connectors, I manage to solder 1 RCA connector in but melted 2 of it. After that I pass it to Ed to finish up the cables. After that I did some research for ChristmasSing by watching the Mandarin rehearsal so that I have a rough idea of what is going to be happen, After that we called it a day.

Cantonese Worship Service , what will go wrong will go wrong. Today basically everything that went right yesterday went wrong today. The whole Tricaster hang during streaming and the whole event wasnt stream. The DVD output from the Tricaster was 4x3 instead of 16x9. Various problems that we didnt expect to occur occur. Even the intercoms were not working.
I was the remote Camera Operator for the English Worship Service, things start to get abit better but it wasnt still the greatest service. The first half of the stream have audio issues but we manage to overcome it and get it done and over with. Thankfully the whole crew was calm in handling the whole issues
Here is the service.

After lunch, we started to troubleshot each and every problem that happen. The intercom issues was solve when we realised one of the cables was touching the edge of the shell of the xlr, Phi resolder it and we fixed the issue.
As for the streaming problem, we realise that there is a proper steps to follow skipping any steps will hang the system. We then cleaned up the former control as there is a new co workers joining us on monday. At night we played around with the various equipments in the trailer to gain a better understanding of the system before calling it a day.
